Description

360X Staffing is hiring for Outside Machinists for shipyard work. You must have experience working in a shipyard or industrial environment. This position is for 15 weeks of work, 60-72 hours a week. 

 

Job Description:
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on propulsion equipment of large commercial ships, including shafts, rudders, and propellers.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems on marine vessels.
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble mechanical components and systems as needed.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to perform mechanical work.
- Follow technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate repairs and installations.
- Work collaboratively with a team of marine technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment onboard ships.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on marine machinery and equipment.
 
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a marine outside machinist working on propulsion equipment of commercial ships.
- Knowledge of marine propulsion systems, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in repairing shafts, rudders, propellers, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments for mechanical work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in troubleshooting and repairs.
- Physical ability to work in marine environments and confined spaces onboard ships.
- Certification or training in marine mechanics, machinery repair, or related field is a plus.
