Description
Gulf Marine Repair is currently looking for a Marine Electrician.
Skills:
Ability to operate equipment used in the repair and maintenance of electrical systems, planning and managing projects, preparing and maintaining accurate records, while adhering to safety practices and handling of hazardous materials.
Knowledge:
Ability to perform mathematical equations, read technical information, composes a variety of documents, and/or facilitates group discussions and solves practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: methods, techniques, materials, tools used in installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical systems/subsystems: troubleshoot mechanical, electrical system and blueprints and schematics.
Shipyard experience is a plus!
Requirements:
* Must be able to work with and maintain high voltage 2300 volts and less.
* Analyze blueprints, schematics and drawings of electrical systems for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded system.
* Diagnose electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or system repairs.
* Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical components and/or systems like: motors, motor controls, circuits, transformers, generators, compressors, switches, welding machines, drill press, drills, grinders, heavy equipment, cranes, lathes.
* Must be able to identify and be familiar with the following: millimeters, voltmeters, manometers, high voltage meters, clamp on amp meters, infrared heat guns, basic electrical tools, crimping tools ( manual and hydraulic), conduit pipe benders.
