POSITION OVERVIEW
The
Marine Electrician
will be a vital part of the vessel production assembly team. The Marine Electrician's area of focus will be the installation of all vessels related electrical system components, to include wiring/cables, power generation components, control panels, junction boxes, etc. The Marine Electrician performs system start-up and functional testing of electrical systems and troubleshoot/repair system issues.

osition reports to the Marine Electrician Supervisor and is based in Portland, CT.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
All Levels:
Remove, install, and repair electrical equipment and fixtures.
Remove, install diverse types of cable tray systems.
Troubleshoot motor and control systems.
Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems.
Build control panels.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Ability to work in limited spaces.
Own set of tools required for the job.
Understand how to use a multi-meter.
Understand proper safety and abide by all quality rules instructed.
WORKING CONDITIONS & SCHEDULES
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment where exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level.
Employees must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and or move more than 75 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, talk and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protection and work boots.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
All Levels
Previous experience in marine electrical installation.
Familiarity with electrical schematics and manuals.
Familiarity with electrical equipment.
Level III: Often supports or leads peer training and knowledge sharing.
Level IV: Serves as a subject matter expert for training and troubleshooting.
EXPERIENCE
Base: 0 to 1 year
Level I: 1 to 2 years
Level II: 2 to 3 years
Level III: 4 to 5 years
Level IV: 5+ years

28.68 Hour
