MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Maintenance Superintendent to lead our maintenance operations team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This role is essential to maintaining the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our production infrastructure.
Qualification Standards:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in manufacturing, production, heavy industry, or related fields preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders and maintenance schedules.
- Familiarity with PLC systems, automation, and robotics is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent.
- OSHA or other safety-related certifications.
- Craft certifications in Millwright, Boilermaker, Instrumentation, etc.
- Other Requirements:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance software.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Operations Management
- Oversee daily maintenance activities, ensuring timely and effective repairs of machinery and equipment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Manage emergency repairs and troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians and staff.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training programs for skill development.
- Equipment & Facility Management
- Ensure proper maintenance of all facility equipment, including HVAC, electrical systems, and production machinery.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure maintenance operations comply with OSHA, EPA, and other safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to promote a culture of workplace safety.
- Investigate maintenance-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and modernization.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and new maintenance technologies.
