MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Maintenance Superintendent to lead our maintenance operations team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This role is essential to maintaining the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our production infrastructure.

Qualification Standards:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role.
    • Experience in manufacturing, production, heavy industry, or related fields preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders and maintenance schedules.
    • Familiarity with PLC systems, automation, and robotics is a plus.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent.
    • OSHA or other safety-related certifications.
    • Craft certifications in Millwright, Boilermaker, Instrumentation, etc.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance software.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Operations Management
    • Oversee daily maintenance activities, ensuring timely and effective repairs of machinery and equipment.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
    • Manage emergency repairs and troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Team Leadership & Supervision
    • Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians and staff.
    • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training programs for skill development.

 

 

 

 

  • Equipment & Facility Management
    • Ensure proper maintenance of all facility equipment, including HVAC, electrical systems, and production machinery.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure maintenance operations comply with OSHA, EPA, and other safety and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to promote a culture of workplace safety.
    • Investigate maintenance-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and modernization.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends and new maintenance technologies.
