Job Description: At Texas Chiller Systems (TCS), we're looking for a dedicated Estimator who is passionate about making a real impact. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our projects, collecting and analyzing crucial information to accurately estimate the costs of our products and services. You'll be an essential part of our team, ensuring that the scope is captured. Your work will help us continue to deliver top-quality solutions to our clients. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • You will be tasked to thoroughly analyze requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans, ensuring you grasp the scope in every detail of the project. Your meticulous approach will set the foundation for the entire team's success.
  • With your keen eye for detail, you'll pinpoint the key factors of production that will impact the cost of our services or products. Your insights will be crucial in keeping our projects financially sound.
  • Your expertise will shine as you prepare precise material and cost estimates. You'll ensure we have a clear financial roadmap for each product or service we offer.
  • You'll be the go-to person for creating detailed labor and material estimates, ensuring we have the scope for every project. Your estimates will help us allocate resources effectively.
  • Your interpersonal skills will be vital as you develop and nurture relationships with our vendors and contractors. You'll be the bridge that connects us with our external partners, ensuring smooth collaborations.
  • You'll manage the bidding process with vendors and contractors, ensuring we get the best value for our projects. Your negotiation skills will be key in securing competitive bids.
  • You'll confidently present your prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned. Your presentations will drive key project decisions.
  • You'll meticulously compile and record the take-offs you perform. Your detailed records will be essential for future planning and analysis.
Qualifications:
  • 1 to 2 years' experience as an estimator or applicable field experience. Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Report writing and strategic planning skills
  • Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
  • Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Fast Pipe/ Fast Duct or similar software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents
  • Must have basic knowledge of Building Automation Systems and how it relates to piping systems.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Must have the ability to pass a Military, Higher education and K-12 security background checks for badging purposes.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel to remote project locations that will require overnight trips.
  • Must be able to climb service ladders/ stairs to access Mechanical Equipment. The locations will vary from basements to rooftops.
  • Have the ability to work in various weather conditions from summer heat to possible frozen road conditions.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000-$95,000

Schedule:
  • 7:00 am-6:00 pm availability
  • Monday to Friday
  • May be required to come in early or stay late to accommodate special opportunities.
