*INCREASED* Pay Ranges: $40.00 per hour plus $155.00 a day per diem, nonlocal
Job Description
• Minimum 4 years of experience as an outside machinist
Prior Shipyard experience, a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist.
Installs, aligns and repairs ship machinery such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, steering gear, laundry, and galley equipment, working from blueprints and using hand tools, calipers and micrometers. lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connection, such as shafting and steam lines.
Align reduction gears, bearings, shafting, propellers, rudder, and steering engine assemblies.
