Iron Worker/Structural Steel Welder

Job Summary:

The Iron Worker/Structural Steel Welder will be responsible for erecting, assembling, and welding structural steel components to form frameworks for new build construction projects. The role involves reading blueprints, aligning steel structures, cutting and welding metal parts, and ensuring the integrity and safety of the finished structures. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabricating structural steel, as well as the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Erect and assemble steel frameworks by hoisting and aligning structural steel components
• Weld, cut, and fabricate structural steel components using a variety of tools and welding techniques (MIG, TIG, etc.)
• Bolt, clamp, and weld metal parts to secure them in position as required by design specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings to determine the project requirements
• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe and working order

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an iron worker and structural steel welder, particularly in new build construction
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations
• Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work long hours in challenging conditions
• Ability to work at heights and operate heavy equipment safely
• Work in outdoor weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, or humid environments
