Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring a Foreman Electrician in Hoffman Estates, IL. The Commercial Electrician Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of electricians on commercial construction projects. This role ensures that all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of electricians and helpers, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and schedule electrical work to meet project timelines and prevent delays.
  • Inspection: Inspect and approve electrical installations to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Safety Meetings: Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
  • Communication: Liaise with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure project specifications and expectations are met.
  • Training: Train and mentor junior electricians, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and provide status reports to management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a commercial electrician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical work preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to read and interpret blueprints, knowledge of electrical codes and standards, and proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid electrician's license and any other relevant certifications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and at heights.
  • Must be able to talk or hear, sit, stand, bend, stoop, stretch, twist, use hands, and/or reach out for prolonged periods of time
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and poles.
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Must be able to work around wood dust and fumes
  • Maybe exposed to heights and loud noises
  • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be aware of OSHA safety standards

Job Type: Contract
Pay:$35 to $45 per hour, DOE

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the available hourly pay scale for this position is $35 to $42 per hour. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
