What You Can Expect Working in the Crane Operator Position
The Crane Operator will safely operate Armoda crane's and forklifts to transfer buildings, structures, material and heavy equipment for shipping/receiving, load-out, and construction. As the Crane Operator, you will report to the Production Supervisor and ensure that buildings and equipment are moved from one location to another in order to help stage equipment for daily operations for fabrication, production, shipping/receiving, and lot services.
Responsibilities
Operates specialized machinery such as telescope booms, lattice booms, and hydraulic cranes.
Calculates load capacity, determining weight of items to be moved in relation to the maximum capacity of crane based on manufacturer's specifications.
Inspects clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to ensure there are no accidents or damage to employees, buildings, loads, or equipment.
Inspects and assesses ground conditions to ensure that the crane can be set up safely.
Inspects cranes for defects and wear prior to operation; performs necessary repairs or maintenance.
Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices.
Maintains logs and records of operation activities.
Performs other related duties such as applying lubricant to cables, applying grease to pulleys, crane tracks and daily checks on all fuel/lube.
Minimum Qualifications
1+ years of related experience.
Ability to operate heavy equipment
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of apprenticeship for mobile crane operators required.
Certification by the North American Crane Bureau Group or the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators preferred.
Valid state license to operate heavy equipment required.
Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading blueprints; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and fabrication/welding of parts at distances close to the eyes. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment
The worker is exposed to adverse environmental conditions, such as hot and cold climates, dusty, and noisy areas.
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
