Job Description
These inspectors will be assigned to a shop environment performing RT inspection on structural welds. There will be some climbing and crawling required and the RT inspectors will be expected to perform some minor grinding for relevancy checks in the process of the RT inspections.
Qualifications
All inspectors shall have documented qualifications/certifications to the Level II requirements for ASNT's SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Edition, which must be turned in with the application.
Inspectors shall have passed written general theory and procedure-specific examinations for RT Inspection piping, casting, and or structural welds. General, Practical, and Specific examinations will cover the equipment, and operating procedures, performance of X-ray and Gamma radiography, and will test techniques that the candidate may encounter in their specific assignments. Inspectors must pass a visual acuity exam using Jaegar 1 letters at a distance of 12 inches.
This position is rotating shifts and up to 12 hrs each day, must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb vertical ladders, crawl in tanks and confined spaces, and not be afraid of heights.
