360X Staffing is hiring for structural welders who have fluxcore experience and the ability to pass a weld test.

 

Position: Fluxcore Welder (Ship Repair - DOD Navy Ships)
Industry: Maritime/Ship Repair, Defense
 
Job Description:
- Perform fluxcore (FCAW) welding on DOD Navy ships for repair and maintenance projects, ensuring high-quality welds on steel structures and components.
- Pass welding tests in the 2G (horizontal), 3G (vertical), and 4G (overhead) positions with a backing strip to meet DOD Navy ship repair standards.
- Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements and procedures.
- Prepare surfaces, clean materials, and fit components together for welding using fluxcore welding processes.
- Weld steel structures and components using fluxcore wire, maintaining proper welding techniques and standards.
- Conduct post-weld inspections, quality checks, and repairs as needed to ensure weld integrity and compliance with DOD Navy ship repair requirements.
- Coordinate with welding team members, supervisors, and inspectors to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Adhere to safety regulations, protocols, and shipyard security procedures during welding operations on DOD Navy ships.
 
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a fluxcore welder in ship repair, preferable on DOD Navy ships.
- Ability to pass welding tests in the 2G, 3G, and 4G positions with a backing strip for DOD Navy ship repair projects.
- Proficiency in fluxcore welding techniques and processes, ensuring strong and durable welds on steel structures.
- Knowledge of welding symbols, blueprint reading, and welding specifications specific to ship repair and naval standards.
- Strong attention to detail, precision, and quality in welding workmanship.
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in maritime environments on DOD Navy ships.
- Certification in welding, fluxcore welding, and relevant DOD Navy welding standards is preferred.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and compliance with DOD Navy ship repair regulations and security protocols.
