POSITION OVERVEIW:
The Marine Electrician Supervisor supervises and coordinates employees who install fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work through written work instruction tracking and sign offs. The supervisor also identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and ensures repairs are done in accordance with the contract requirements. Daily tasks required are signing off time cards, reviewing administrative requests like time off and requests for purchases.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with company, Federal, State, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations and policies while performing duties.
Assign work on multiple assignments to multiple subordinates during a workday and monitor progress onboard marine vessels.
Monitor work performance and productivity as compared to budgeted labor hours. Effectively drive the electrical team to meet production goals.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Ability to read engineered drawings and understand electrical diagrams.
Read and comprehend written, oral, and/or diagram forms or plans.
Understand how to carry out instructions provided in written, oral and/or diagram form.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from other supervisors and employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure.
Other duties as assigned by MLB Production Manager.
WORKING CONDITIONS & SCHEDULES
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment where exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level.
Employees must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and or move more than 75 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, talk and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Physically and medically qualified to wear all required personal protective equipment, as prescribe under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Work above ground at heights of a minimum of 50 feet aloft and/or working from scaffolding and/or man-lifts while working with machinery, in confined spaces and withstand extreme heat and cold in an outside climate or confined space.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
Five-years of marine/industrial electrician experience.
Five-years managing a team efficiently, effectively and safely
Working knowledge of principles, techniques and practices involved in installation, maintenance, repair and alteration of marine electrical and electromechanical systems.
Safe operation and use of hand and power tools.
