Position and Responsibilities Overview
 

  • Supervise and direct quality technicians/auditors who are responsible for enforcing good manufacturing Practices and other quality-related policies in order to meet product quality standards.
  • Review production records and other manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities.
  • Assist with the internal audit program for quality control of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the coordination of testing results involving finished products, raw materials, and packaging components and the appropriate release and hold programs associated with these materials.
  • Assist with the “Red Tag”/Non-Conformance product program, including the status, release, and closing out of “Rejected” products.
  • Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
  • Make proactive recommendations and offering/presenting solutions to the Quality Systems & Regulatory Compliance Department Management to improve quality and work efficiency.
  • Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards.
  • Participate in all regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections, and corrective action responses.
  • Report performance of quality assurance technicians/auditors to the Quality Manager, and assist with training and development activities.
  • Effectively communicate in a professional manner to resolve all customer complaints and ability to escalate to the appropriate personal.
  • Report all defects, deviations and personnel issues to the Quality Manager
  • Monitor the QA production schedule and assist with the application of resources required for timely completion.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications
 

  • Lean Manufacturing background and Lean Six Sigma a plus.
  • CWI with 5-7 years of experience with visual weld experience preferred. 
  • Previous supervisory and training experience required
  • Previous experience with NDT practices preferred
  • Statistical analysis and quality assurance skills including experience with techniques of root cause analysis & implementation of preventative actions preferred .
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of manufacturing and engineering including ASME, AWS and AISC codes and standards.
  • Good working knowledge of quality control standards and government compliance including certification standards for ISO9001, ASME and AISC.
