Job Summary:  

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Pipe Welder to join our team. The Pipe Welder is responsible for welding and assembling metal pipes in various configurations for use in industries like oil and gas, chemical plants, water systems, and power facilities. The job involves interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate welding techniques, and ensuring the integrity and durability of the welds. Pipe Welders must follow safety protocols and meet specific industry standards for quality control. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding specifications for pipe welding jobs. 
  • Weld pipes in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead) using techniques like MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). 
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for welding by cleaning, beveling, and aligning them. 
  • Perform root passes, filler passes, and cap welds, ensuring all welds are strong, leak-proof, and meet required codes. 
  • Inspect and test welds for quality, including performing hydrostatic or x-ray tests when necessary. 
  • Install welded pipes and support structures in accordance with the design plan. 
  • Repair or replace faulty pipes or welds as needed. 
  • Collaborate with pipefitters, engineers, and other team members to complete projects efficiently. 
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, hand tools, and safety gear. 
  • Adhere to safety standards and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize the risk of accidents. 

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience as a pipe welder, particularly in industrial settings. 
  • Proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core. 
  • Ability to read and interpret pipe welding blueprints and technical drawings. 
  • Deep understanding of welding metallurgy and pipe-fitting principles. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform quality control. 
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions, including outdoors and confined spaces. 
  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification in welding or a related field preferred. 
  • Certification in pipe welding, such as AWS or ASME certifications, is a plus.
