We are seeking a candidate who possesses the necessary skill sets to pass the pre-employment welding examination. The successful applicant will apply their technical knowledge and practical welding skills to assist in component installation, fit-up, and alignment.
The role will include familiarity with the equipment required to perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) processes. You will verify the position of metal components in assembly using tools such as a straight edge, combination square, calipers, and rule. Additionally, you will utilize conventional tools for the preparation of welding and clean-up, including grinders, buffers, files, and chipping hammers. Tack-welding components to secure them in position for welding will also be part of your responsibilities.
The successful candidate must be familiar with weld acceptance criteria and perform front-line examination of the welding work performed. Adherence to all safety procedures is mandatory.
