Description As an Apprentice Electrician with the Tesla Energy Commercial Deployment team you will have the opportunity to work under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Electrician on all phases of commercial PV, energy storage and super charging stations. Skills in all areas of electrical are not necessarily required, but the job can and will involve a variety of electrical disciplines and a strong candidate will be able to perform a variety of electrical tasks from distribution/production power, lighting and low voltage.
Working as a team with the entire energy department, the Apprentice Electrician will assist with new installation of: power distribution, transformers, lighting, and electrical equipment 480 VAC up to 1000VDC, Inverters, Batteries, DC strings under the guidance of a Licensed Electrician.
This role is 80% travel.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting various types of electrical components
  • Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
  • Performs a wide variety of job scopes (Installing modules, racking, and any other required tasks assign)
  • Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback
Requirements
  • Must be a registered Electrical Trainee or willing to enroll in a state approved trainee course, including have 1-4 years of electrical experience
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory and Ohms law, using hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment
  • Experience working with 120/208, 480/277 VAC. Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics, conductors, conduits while using the NEC code book
  • Ability to install electrical equipment, produce parts lists, work plans based off drawings or field walks, and routing. Ability to produce as-built drawings for work performed. Ability to test and commission all work per Tesla procedures
  • Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required. Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high. Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have a high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people. OSHA10 or 30, CPR plus reach-fork, boomlift, manlift, warehouse forklift certifications are a plus

      $21.76 - $54.91/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
