Job Summary:  

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Structural Welder to join our team. The Structural Welder is responsible for welding structural components to create and repair steel frameworks for buildings, industrial plants, and other heavy structures. The role includes interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate welding methods, and ensuring that welds meet industry standards for strength and durability.  Welders will also be expected to inspect and maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and ensure that all welding work meets the specifications of the job. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to understand project requirements. 
  • Weld structural components such as beams, girders, and columns using techniques like MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). 
  • Align and position parts to be welded according to design specifications. 
  • Perform structural welds in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead) as required by the job. 
  • Inspect and test completed welds to ensure they meet structural standards and codes. 
  • Repair or replace damaged structural components as needed. 
  • Operate and maintain welding tools, equipment, and safety gear to ensure operational readiness. 
  • Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to complete large-scale projects. 
  • Follow strict safety guidelines, including the use of protective gear such as helmets, gloves, and welding shields. 

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience as a welder in steel erection, construction sites and industrial setting. 
  • Proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. 
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and welding safety practices. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform quality control. 
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions, including outdoors and at heights. 
  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification in welding or a related field preferred. 
  • Certifications such as AWS (American Welding Society) certification are a plus.
