Outside Machinist
Installs, aligns, and repairs ship machinery such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, steering gear, laundry and galley equipment, working from blueprints and using hand tools, calipers and micrometers. Lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connection such as shafting and steam lines. Align reduction gears, bearing, shafting, propellers, and rudder and steering engine assemblies. Assists riggers in removal of equipment Knowledge valves, seals, bearings, installation and repair Knowledge of rudders, shafts, and prop repair and removal Must have own hand tools Must have 3-5 min years’ experience Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen Must have reliable transportation.
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of shipboard/trade terminology and nomenclature. • Clean Background check • Must be a U. S. citizen
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug tests Must have reliable transportation Must be willing to work Overtime and weekends.
Pay $16.00 – $26.50 Non- Local $23.00 + $120.00 PD
