360X Staffing is hiring for Steel Fitters with experience working in shipyards on commercial barges. Must be willing and able to work outside and inside as well as work 8-10 hour days.
This position is responsible for steel fitting equipment, parts, interiors and exteriors of ships, and shipyard buildings. Fitters need to be able to use a cutting torch. You will need to show they can cut a 90 degree angle on 3/4" steel with a torch and also a 22 degree bevel. Fitters will also need to have basic 7018 stick welding skills and pass a 2F and 3F fillet weld on carbon steel plate. They will 3 run, single pass, 4" beads (basic tack welding) on carbon steel plate. Ideal candidates will have around 1 year of experience 7018 stick welding and heavy steel work.
