Trade Team is needing Structural Welders & Shipfitters for Sturgeon Bay, WI
Must have at least 2 years' experience welding or fitting in the shipyard or industrial.
$250 bonus on your first check!
This position is located in Sturgeon Bay, WI
There are two test options:
Commercial side:
Option #1 - FCAW Carbon Steel, 2G & 3G, with ceramic backing tape. 3/4" plate with a single bevel. Responsible for knowing how to load wire into machine and basic safety knowledge of using a grinder. Tests will be inspected to ABS and AWS criteria. Bend test.
Option #2 - If they are not comfortable with the ceramic backing the welder can choose to back gouge and weld the plate from both sides.
Fitters - skills testing on ability to light and use a cutting torch to cut 90-degree straight cuts along with 30-degree bevel cuts. The will perform a tack welding test showing their ability to use the SMAW welding process with 7018 rods.
Must be able to provide a birth cert or passport & per diem documents (a lease/rental agreement in your name or 2 utility bills in your name)
Pay: $18 & $150 per diem for days worked
