360X Staffing is hiring for Steel Fitters & Ship Fitters

 

Steel Fitter – DOD Shipbuilding
We are seeking an experienced Steel Fitter for DOD ship construction in a shipyard environment. Candidates must be skilled in fitting steel components and passing a fluxcore fillet weld test on carbon steel plate (.052 carbon steel) in vertical up and overhead positions.
Responsibilities:
  • Fit and align steel structures per blueprint specifications
  • Work with welders to ensure proper fitting and welding
  • Perform fluxcore fillet welding on carbon steel plates
  • Inspect structures for accuracy and alignment
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness on-site
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in shipbuilding steel fitting (DOD projects preferred)
  • Ability to pass required fluxcore fillet weld test
  • Strong blueprint reading & welding symbol knowledge
  • Welding certification preferred
  • Attention to detail & physical stamina
