Description

360X Staffing is hiring for Riggers at a commercial ship repair yard. This will be for the remainder of winter repair season which will last another 2 months and could go beyond at this location. As long as you are willing to travel, we have other projects lined up after this one. Must be willing to work a minimum of 50 hours a week.

 

Job Description:
- As a Rigger working in a commercial ship repair shipyard, you will be responsible for safely moving and positioning heavy loads and equipment using rigging techniques and equipment.
- Your primary tasks will include inspecting and selecting appropriate rigging gear, attaching loads to cranes or hoists, and guiding the movement of equipment during lifting operations.
- Successful candidates must have a strong understanding of rigging principles, load limits, and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the secure handling of materials.
- Working closely with crane operators, shipwrights, and other tradespeople, you will assist in the movement of machinery, equipment, and materials to support ship repair and maintenance projects.
- This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced shipyard environment.
 
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Rigger in a commercial ship repair shipyard or similar maritime industry setting.
- Proficiency in rigging techniques, equipment operation, and safe lifting practices.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, load calculations, and rigging hardware selection.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively during lifting operations.
- Dedication to safety, adherence to protocols, and a commitment to quality workmanship in all rigging activities.
