Description

Must be able to lead in all electrical component, and Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of refinery machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.

TYPICAL DUTIES: 

  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
  • May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. May be required to hold electrician’s license.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess a State electrical certificate or license. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
  • Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training. 
  • To obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.

Hiring range: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
