Sheet Metal Mechanic

Taurus Staffing is looking for Sheet Metal Mechanics for a long term project in Huntsville, AL

Requirements

• Must have clean background
• Must be authorized to work in U.S.
• Must have all hand tools and PPE

Qualifications

• Must be able to use hand tools and operate electric and/or battery powered tools
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. at times
• Must be able to ascend and descend step ladders and work from elevated scissor lifts and scaffolding
• 5+ years ‘experience in related field and successful completion of apprenticeship
• Adept at multi-tasking in fast paced environment, able to plan, prioritize, and organize individual and helper activities and processes
• Able to work independently and across multiple teams and levels within and outside of the organization and take initiative on projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review and understand project blueprints and specifications with assistance from site foreman
• Responsible for ducting system coordination for material list takeoff
• Ability to accurately cut, hang, measure and fabricate and adhere duct systems
• Ability to layout and assemble inline units to duct system
• Understanding of layout of Commercial and Industrial HVAC systems
• Ability to layout and assemble roof exhaust fans to duct system
• Installation and proper joining methods of ductwork in Commercial and Industrial settings
• Assist helpers to understand job tasks to ensure work is being completed in a timely manner to meet the job schedule
• Attend weekly safety toolbox talk meetings with foreman and other jobsite employees
• Responsible for use of proper tools and PPE on site to perform assigned job tasks
• Must have reliable transportation
