Job Summary:
The
Electrical Manager
will be responsible for effectively managing the initial design and review of plans for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). The Electrical Manager will ensure the safe installation and operation of all electrical components located at designated EV sites. The Electrical Manager will work closely with other MD7 managers to ensure success for each site. Additionally, the Electrical Manager will collaborate with site acquisition/zoning staff, engineering team, construction team, utilities, and general contractors.
Major goals and responsibilities:
Conduct site assessments to determine the electrical infrastructure requirements for installing EVSE and make recommendations for necessary upgrades.
Design the electrical systems that will power the EV charging stations, including selecting the appropriate equipment and calculating the electrical loads.
Create schematics and diagrams that clearly illustrate the electrical systems designed to facilitate the installation process
Essential activities:
Review plans created by other professionals to ensure they meet necessary electrical requirements and standards for EVSE
Provide technical support to other team members and stakeholders throughout the installation process of EVSE
Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in EV charging technology to ensure designs are innovative, efficient, and cost-effective
Maintain tracking reports and perform site inspections of completed work
Site walks, as necessary
Key Characteristics to be successful in this role:
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to prioritize and be self-motivated with minimal supervision
Extreme attention to detail
Basic computer skills with Outlook, Excel and Word are required
Deep understanding of electrical systems and engineering principles, as well as knowledge of relevant codes and regulations
Experience
Five years working as a master electrician with a focus on electrical system design and installation preferred.
Experience in designing and maintaining EVSE is highly desired.
A valid master electrician's license required
