Off-Site Inside Machinist-Level II-LARGE MACHINE OPERATOR

Inside Machinist-Level II-Large Machine Operator(Off-Site)

• Pay: $45/Hour
• Per-Diem: $120.00/Day for each day you work at least 8 hours. 
• 2-year term at Newport News Shipyard
• **MUST be a US citizen
• **Must complete a 10-year criminal background check and hair follicle drug test

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE ON:

1. Experience with large machining (parts up to as much as 30 feet in length)
2. Horizontal Boring Mills, with multiple head attachments
3. Experience machining large weldments, and a variety metals is preferred.
4. Vertical Milling Machines, Bridge/Gantry type mills with multiple head attachments.
5. Multiple axis machining background preferred, either 3 + 2, or 5-axis experience is helpful.
6. Five years minimum experience as a Inside-Shop Machinist

Recommended Skills:

• Safety orientated
• Proficient with Numerical Controlled Processes, Manual Data Input, Tooling Offsets, Conversation Controllers, etc.
• Operate Manual and/or NC machines such as: lathes, mills, horizontal & vertical machining centers, EDMs, etc.
• Proficient with controllers such as: Fanuc, Siemens, Acramatic, Cincinnati-Milacron, etc.
• Proficient with the use of precision measuring instruments: outside/inside micrometers, depth mics, verniers, etc.
• Proficient with threading and the various measuring/gauging requirements Drilling/tapping processes
• Familiar with carbide machining processes
• Ability to comprehend complex mechanical drawings and blueprints
• Strong math skills
• Machinist or Tool & Die Apprenticeship
