Description
Summa Mechanical Contractors, LLC. Is looking for a hands on Pipefitter Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating pipefitting projects within a construction setting. As a pipefitter Superintendent you will oversee and manage project needs including but not limited to materials, personnel, schedules, and communication with project management team and building officials
This is an 8-month contract with the potential for transition into a full-time position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives.
Must have a hands on attitude, willing to help those under them.
Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and budgets for pipefitting projects.
Allocate resources and manpower efficiently to meet project timelines.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, providing clear instructions and guidance.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, offering feedback and implementing corrective measures as needed.
Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safe work environment.
Ensure that pipefitting work is performed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with project specifications and industry codes.
Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed work to identify and rectify any issues.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure the timely availability of required materials and equipment for the projects.
Oversee inventory management, maintaining adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
Supervise and actively participate in the installation, assembly, and repair of piping systems, including cutting, threading, welding, and brazing.
Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to guide the team effectively.
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
Identify and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during the project execution.
Propose innovative solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Act as a liaison between the pipefitting team, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Communicate project status, challenges, and milestones effectively.
Monitor project expenses and ensure that the project stays within the allocated budget.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
Maintain accurate records, including work progress, materials used, and any changes to the project scope.
Prepare reports and documentation required for project completion and client deliverables.
Requirements
5 or more years of experience running and managing commercial HVAC piping/welding construction jobs
Experience supervising job site personnel - Foreman to Apprentice level
Ability to lead a team to include teaching and coaching
Experience completing required documentation electronically
OSHA 30 certification preferred

Regular and punctual attendance. Ability to work overtime if needed
Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
Ability to travel, as needed, for projects
Salary
34.13 Hour
