Site Materials Manager - $30 to $33

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Materials Handler to support the efficient flow of materials on an industrial construction site. The Materials Handler will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing construction materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the appropriate teams. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and organization.

REQUIRED - Previous experience as a materials handler or similar role, in a construction or industrial environment

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling

• Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment within the site.
• Operate forklifts, and other material handling equipment as needed.
• Ensure materials are delivered to the appropriate location based on project schedules and supervisor instructions.

Receiving and Inventory Management

• Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and damage, and report discrepancies.
• Label and store materials in designated areas to ensure easy retrieval and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain organized and clean storage areas to minimize damage and enhance efficiency.

Logistics Support

• Assist in coordinating material deliveries to the site, ensuring timeliness and compliance with project needs.
• Track and document material usage, returns, and transfers using established processes.
• Work with supervisors to forecast and prepare for upcoming material needs.

Safety and Compliance

• Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform daily checks of equipment to ensure safe operation and report maintenance needs.
• Follow proper handling and storage procedures for hazardous materials when applicable.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking systems.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs] frequently.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
