Position Overview:
We are seeking an Project Manager in Tucson, AZ who plays a pivotal role in overseeing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) initiatives, supporting technical performance, service delivery, and warranty-related efforts for commercial solar installations. This role bridges engineering expertise with project execution, managing timelines, budgets, and client expectations while driving service excellence.
In collaboration with the service department, this position leads the planning and administration of both warranty and billable O&M work, ensuring systems operate at peak efficiency and clients receive proactive, solutions-oriented support. A strong understanding of solar energy systems and the ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients.
- Serve as the lead engineer on all service-related and engineering projects.
- Manage O&M projects from contract execution through multi-year administration.
- Conduct in-depth diagnostics for both warranty and billable service work.
- Lead site visits, build estimates, and develop scopes of work for O&M proposals.
- Coordinate directly with project management to align fieldwork with contract deliverables.
- Investigate site issues, identify root causes, and implement timely resolutions.
- Support estimating efforts for engineering-driven projects.
- Provide Tier 2 customer support, resolving technical disputes prior to escalation.
- Promote and grow billable O&M service offerings within the existing portfolio.
- Conduct site production analyses and provide reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan and schedule technician site visits, creating comprehensive work plans as needed.
- Perform Quality Assurance inspections and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Maintain professional, timely communication across all project stakeholders.
- Support a positive and collaborative team culture aligned with core company values.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Engineering and service work is accurately tracked under project/job numbers.
- Projects meet or exceed quality benchmarks and deadlines.
- Estimating deliverables are produced within 72 hours of initial request.
- O&M contracts are executed and managed in alignment with annual business goals.
- Customer support and communication reflect professionalism and responsiveness.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Degree in Engineering is preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of industry experience, preferably within the solar or electrical sectors.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Experience in installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing solar components such as panels, inverters, and battery storage systems.
- Direct Hire/Full Time/Tucson, AZ is base location
