Job Summary:
The HVAC Superintendent oversees and manages all aspects of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system installations for large-scale industrial projects. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to project specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations. The HVAC Superintendent serves as the primary point of contact for field operations, coordinating between project management, subcontractors, and on-site teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, chillers, cooling towers, and associated components.
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with contract documents and local codes.
Team Management:
- Lead and direct a team of HVAC technicians, subcontractors, and other on-site personnel.
- Conduct daily safety and coordination meetings to align teams with project goals.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all installations meet industry standards, company quality policies, and project requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections and resolve issues promptly to prevent delays or rework.
Safety Compliance:
- Enforce OSHA and site-specific safety regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Conduct regular safety audits and address hazards immediately.
Material & Resource Management:
- Monitor material deliveries, inventory, and equipment usage to prevent delays or shortages.
- Submit requests for tools, materials, or manpower as needed to maintain project momentum.
Reporting:
- Provide daily and weekly progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting accomplishments, risks, and potential delays.
- Document and track change orders and field directives.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC installation, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record managing large-scale industrial or commercial HVAC projects
Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in HVAC are preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
