Job Title: Pipeline Laborer
Location: Cameron, WV
Department: Pipeline Construction
Reports To: Site Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious Pipeline Laborer to join our construction team. The Pipeline Laborer will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines and related facilities. This position requires experience with manual labor, the ability to work in various weather conditions, and a willingness to travel to different job sites. A successful candidate will have strong work ethics, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of natural gas pipelines, including tasks such as pipefitting, trenching, backfilling, and coating pipelines.
Operate and maintain various hand and power tools such as pipe cutters, wrenches, and grinders.
Perform manual labor tasks such as shoveling, lifting, and carrying construction materials.
Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment, materials, and supplies at job sites.
Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and boots.
Assist in the preparation and cleanup of job sites, including clearing debris and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Follow direction from the foreman and other supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
Assist in performing quality control checks to ensure pipeline integrity.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or project manager.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in pipeline construction, oil and gas, or a similar construction environment (preferred).
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in physically demanding environments.
Experience with operating hand and power tools.
Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials (up to 50 pounds).
Ability to work in confined spaces, trenches, and at various heights.
Strong commitment to safety and following company safety standards and procedures.
Willingness to travel to different job sites and work overtime as needed.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Experience with operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and skid steers (a plus).
Certifications in safety training (such as OSHA 10 or OSHA 30) or pipeline safety certifications (preferred).
Working Conditions:
Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
Job may require working in remote locations with overnight travel.
Work involves physical labor tasks, including lifting, climbing, digging, and operating tools.
May involve long hours and overtime, depending on the project schedule.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Must be able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
Must be able to work in confined spaces and at varying heights.
Must be able to work in physically demanding conditions and perform manual labor.
