Description
Summary
As a CNC programmer, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You may also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
· CNC programming for lathes and milling machines using Mastercam.
· Align and code steps for tool operations, speed, feeds, and work piece positions to conform to operational sequences.
· Operate CNC machines as needed to prove program.
· Provide tooling, fixture, and program support to CNC machinists.
· Act as liaison between machine shop and engineering.
· Maintain documentation for daily machine shop operations (inspection sheets, machine checklist, job instructions, shipping receipts)
· Maintain and update CNC program library by optimizing toolpaths and cycle times.
· Work closely with Tool Design and Manufacturing personnel to plan tooling designs.
· Manage work orders through Cloud Suite Industrial (CSI) routing system.
Qualifications
· Experience working in manufacturing
· A keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised.
· Good understanding of machining metal and processes.
· Mechanical aptitude and use of significant mathematical skills.
Education and/or Experience
· Trade school or a bachelor's degree in computer science, mechanics or a related field.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and operations.
· Mastercam experience a plus.
