Our growth has created an opportunity for the right person to join the team as a Traveling Laborer. This position is based out of Chaska, MN; Cincinnati, OH; Salt Lake City, UT and requires extensive travel throughout the United States. Structures will make every effort to bring crew members back to their home state approximately every 3 weeks. While traveling, hotel accommodations paid by company with additional per diem incentive included.

Job Summary:

Perform tasks involving strenuous physical labor on Commercial construction projects while safely operating a variety of hand and power tools. Prepare and maintain safe and clean job sites which include installing earth retention systems, segmental pavement systems, digging trenches, grading aggregate, cleaning up rubble and debris, removing waste materials and assisting in daily maintenance of equipment including excavators, loaders, skid steers, compactors, etc. Work is regularly performed in close vicinity to moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather.

Essential Responsibilities & Functions:

  • Complete OSHA 10-hour safety training within first week of hire
  • Ability to communicate and understand written and oral instructions
  • Proven ability to work independently and alongside a team of both Structures and other project members
  • Attend required training through local union training center for apprenticeship program and continually strive to improve your knowledge of segmental wall and unit paving systems installation standards and practices
  • Safely lift, push, pull and carry heavy objects; walk and stand for long periods of time; work in a generally loud environment; and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field and weather conditions including extreme cold, heat and humidity, and exposure to Sun and dust
  • Extensive travel throughout the United States required
  • Must be punctual and dependable

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Union affiliation or willingness to take the necessary steps to join the union (MN residents)
  • Position requires 8 to 12-hour workdays and occasional weekends, as needed. Must be flexible to work hours.
  • Previous Hardscape experience a plus
